FAQ

Preliminary Questions

  • We are happy to set up an appointment for you to tour the center. Please call ahead as the rooms you wish to see may be occupied.

  • The Center is available for day retreats Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. We are closed Sunday. Saturdays are most popular, so reserve your date as early as possible.

  • We accept reservations a year in advance for weekend events. We accept reservations six months in advance for overnight retreats.

  • We are unable to accommodate weddings, funerals, parties, or other such events.

  • Overnight accommodations are available for individual retreatants and small groups. Please visit our Overnight Retreats page for more information.

  • Up to 10 guests can be accommodated in Cusack Hall.

Once You Have Settled on a Date

  • We ask that you do not arrive before 8:00 a.m. If set up time or catering is required, we suggest allowing 30 minutes to an hour before beginning your event.

  • We ask that all events and clean-up be concluded by 8:00 p.m.

  • The chapel is not available for drop-in use, as it is part of the sisters' private residence. Day retreat groups may use the chapel for mass if prior arrangements are made. Overnight retreatants may use the chapel for prayer during their stay.

  • No, we do not cater events. You are welcome to use outside catering or to bring your own food to the Center. Should you choose to cater, we have a full catering kitchen available for your caterer including ovens and refrigerators.

  • We do not recommend a specific caterer. We do have a list of available catering companies that have worked with the groups that use our Center. We are happy to provide that list to you.

  • You may bring your own food and drink to the Center. We have coffee bar kitchens and a full catering kitchen available for your use. This includes oven and refrigerator.

  • We do provide coffee or tea service, at a rate of $20 per 10people. We provide coffee and tea pots and large coffee urns
for groups wishing to provide their own beverages.

  • Yes, many of our guests like to serve alcohol at the end of a retreat. That is certainly acceptable as long as we are made aware ahead of time and the proper banquet permit has been obtained. Only beer, wine and champagne are approved, no beer kegs or hard liquor. Alcohol must be served and consumed inside the building or on the patio and not extend to the rest of the campus.

  • Yes, all local, state and federal alcohol-related laws apply. We require that you provide us with a copy of your banquet permit before you begin your event. You may obtain a permit online at http://test.liq.wa.gov/licensing/banquet-permits

  • We prefer that you use battery operated candles.

  • We ask that you do not use incense.

  • Pets are not allowed except for guide or service animals.

  • We appreciate knowing the number of attendees at your event. The number of guests will impact the suggested donation for the space that you are reserving. It will also impact the set-up you choose (number of tables and chairs). If the number of attendees changes, we can make adjustments to your invoice and set-up plans if you let us know immediately. We are not always able to make changes the day of the event.

  • Should you need to cancel an event, please let us know immediately so that we may make the space available to other guests. If you have already paid for your event, we will be happy to refund your donation, less the deposit. All deposits are non-refundable.

Questions for the Day of the Event

  • The Center is centrally located in the greater Seattle area on the shores of Lake Washington in Bellevue. The street address is 1663 Killarney Way in Bellevue, WA. Please see the web page Directions and Map.

  • We ask guests to park in the guest parking lot adjacent to Killarney Way and walk down the path that leads from the parking lot to the Peace and Spirituality Center. This path includes four flights of stairs. The circle drive in front of the Peace and Spirituality Center is a fire lane and is reserved for deliveries and emergency use only. Please do not park in the sisters/staff parking lot. Please do not leave any valuables in your vehicle.

Our guest lot accommodates about 45 vehicles.

  • We have three accessible parking spaces available at the Peace and Spirituality Center. If you have someone in your group who cannot walk down the path from the parking lot, please let us know and we will reserve a parking spot for them. If all the accessible parking is taken, drop that person off at the Peace and Spirituality Center and then park your car in the guest parking lot. Please do not park in the sisters/staff parking lot. Please do not leave any valuables in your vehicle.

  • If you have materials or equipment you may drop them off at the loading zone before parking your car. Please do not park in the sisters/staff parking lot.
