Come as you are. Leave with peace.
At the Peace & Spirituality Center, we believe that transformation begins with welcome.pace.
The Peace & Spirituality Center is located at St. Mary-on-the-Lake in Bellevue, Washington, home to the West Coast headquarters and Regional Offices of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. Nestled on the peaceful shores of Lake Washington, the Center offers a quiet refuge in the heart of the city—a place where stillness, beauty, and justice meet.
It’s important to know that the Peace & Spirituality Center is not a retreat center. This sacred space was never designed for commercial use or large-scale hosting. Rather, it is the cherished home of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace—a place of prayer, community, and reflection.
Out of a spirit of radical hospitality, the sisters felt called to share this space with others seeking peace and renewal. The Center exists as a ministry of welcome, made possible by the generosity of the sisters and the values that guide their life.
As a by-appointment only facility, we offer intentional, meaningful programming and provide space for individuals and small groups to experience self-guided retreats and transformative gatherings.
We are deeply committed to making rest, renewal, and resources accessible to all. If the suggested donations present a financial barrier, please reach out. We want everyone who feels drawn to this space to know: you are welcome here.
This land, this building, and the community that animates it are deeply nourishing. Whether you visit for a quiet afternoon or a soul-stirring retreat, we hope you leave with a heart a little more open, and peace that lingers.

Retreat Donations & Support Options
All of our programs are offered at no cost, because we believe that opportunities for reflection, learning, and spiritual growth should be freely available to everyone. For those wishing to reserve space for group or solo self-guided day or overnight retreat, we do request a modest donation.
While financial support for overnight retreats is limited, full support may be available for solo day retreats. We understand that financial circumstances vary, and we’re committed to making retreat experiences as accessible as possible. To be considered, please complete the Retreat Financial Support Application.
