Disarming our Hearts

Disarming Our Hearts: Becoming Peace

At the heart of the mission of the Peace & Spirituality Center is the belief that peace begins within. Disarming Our Hearts: Becoming Peace is an ongoing series that invites us to explore how we cultivate inner peace and bring it into the world.

Through diverse perspectives—spirituality, science, dialogue, and action—this series engages with the principles of nonviolence, healing, and justice. Each presentation, workshop, or retreat is designed to offer meaningful reflection on what it means to “be peace” in ways that can transform not only our hearts but also our communities.

Why It Matters

Disarming our hearts is about more than personal reflection; it’s about embracing a way of being that fosters compassion, justice, and unity. In a world often marked by division and harm, this series offers a space to reflect on how we can uproot violence from within and live in ways that promote peace and understanding.

What to Expect:

Each event in the series will feature unique perspectives from presenters with diverse backgrounds. Participants will be invited to explore themes such as:

  • Cultivating compassion and empathy.

  • The interplay between science and spirituality in shaping a compassionate world.

  • Practicing nonviolence in daily life.

  • Healing and transforming our relationships and communities.

Whether through presentations, group discussions, or personal reflection, each session is an opportunity to engage deeply with the transformative journey of becoming peace. This series is open to all, and we welcome you to join us in this ongoing exploration.
