Welcome to Your Retreat at St. Mary-on-the-Lake

Nestled between shady trees and the serene waters of Lake Washington, St. Mary-on-the-Lake offers the perfect setting for relaxation and finding inner peace. To support your retreat experience, we provide simple rooms with a minimalist, calming design. These accommodations are free from distractions, allowing you to immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquility of your surroundings.

Guestroom Features

Each guestroom is thoughtfully designed to promote rest and renewal. All rooms include a handwashing station, with additional bathroom facilities located in the main residence building. This includes two spacious shared bathrooms accessible to all guests, one of which features a bathtub. For added convenience, half of our guestrooms are equipped with private bathrooms that include standing showers, grab bars, and walk-in closets.

While each guestroom has a unique layout, standard features include a twin bed, a rocking chair or armchair, a nightstand, a desk, a closet, and a phone. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in every room, and most guestrooms also offer a small flat-screen television with basic cable. Depending on your room’s location, you may enjoy views of Lake Washington or the serene interior courtyard.

What to Bring

To ensure a comfortable stay, we provide bed linens and towels. However, guests are asked to bring their own toiletries, including soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and any additional personal items such as a bathrobe, slippers, shower shoes, and a hairdryer. We also recommend packing weather-appropriate items, such as an umbrella or sunblock, depending on the season of your visit.

Cusack Tea Room

Guests staying in the Cusack building have access to the Cusack Tea Room, a space designed for added comfort and convenience. Here, you will find a microwave, refrigerator, and a tea and coffee maker, perfect for preparing light snacks or enjoying a warm beverage during your retreat.

Important Accessibility Notes

  • As a private residence, St. Mary-on-the-Lake grounds, facilities, and overnight guestrooms do not meet the ADA accessible design standards.

  • Overnight guests will need to navigate one flight of stairs between the guest rooms and the dining room. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Although external building doors do lock at night and all guest rooms may be locked from the inside, please note that guestroom doors do not have key locks that may allow guests to leave and lock their room behind them. While our campus is safe, you may want to consider leaving valuables at home.
