Peace Day for Women
Peace Day for Women: A Time to Deepen Your Spiritual Life in Community
One of our longest-running offerings, Peace Day for Women invites participants into a shared spiritual journey from September through May. Meeting once each month, this program welcomes women of all ages and backgrounds who are seeking to deepen their spiritual lives in a supportive and compassionate community. Whether you are just beginning your spiritual journey or have practiced contemplative reflection for years, you are warmly welcome.
Each half-day retreat weaves together a thoughtful presentation, periods of quiet reflection, and opportunities for small-group conversation. This rhythm allows participants to explore the day's theme personally while also drawing strength and wisdom from the shared experience of community.
Each month, sessions are led by a different Sister of St. Joseph of Peace, Associate, or guest presenter, offering a variety of voices, experiences, and perspectives. This hybrid program may be attended either in person or via livestream.
For those joining us in person, we also offer optional 25-minute spiritual direction sessions. These provide an opportunity for one-on-one conversation with a trained spiritual director for anyone seeking greater clarity, discernment, or support along their spiritual journey. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis when you arrive.
An Interfaith Welcome
Although Peace Day for Women was originally rooted in the Catholic contemplative tradition, and many of our presenters are Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, the program is intentionally designed for an interfaith audience.
Each retreat explores universal themes—such as gratitude, hope, forgiveness, compassion, courage, belonging, and peace—that speak to people from many spiritual traditions, as well as those who are simply seeking a deeper sense of meaning. We also regularly welcome guest presenters from other faith and spiritual backgrounds, enriching the conversation through diverse perspectives.
Our purpose is not to teach or promote a particular religion, but to offer a welcoming space where people can discover greater peace through prayer, reflection, silence, and authentic community.
Participants are also invited to join the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace for their mid-day chapel service during our break. Please bring a sack lunch to enjoy afterward, and take time to reflect or connect with fellow attendees.
No reservations are needed for this program. However, prior registration is encouraged so that we can properly accommodate any specific needs and ensure your experience is as enriching as possible. Simply come as you are—ready to explore, reflect, and grow.
