Peace & Reflection Film Series
How This Works
Why Film?
We often think of reflection as something that happens in silence or through reading. But stories—especially visual ones—can reach us in a different way.
They engage both mind and heart.
They help us see faces, not just ideas.
They invite us to slow down and notice.
And sometimes, they help us feel what we might otherwise overlook.
You can engage in whatever way feels right:
Watch on your own
Gather with a friend
Use it in a small group or parish setting
Stories have a way of opening our eyes—sometimes gently, sometimes with urgency.
Through film, we encounter lives, struggles, and hopes that may feel far from our own… and yet, something in them often feels familiar. A scene, a line, a moment can stay with us long after the screen goes dark.
This Film Series is part of our broader invitation to Disarm Our Hearts.
To disarm the heart is not to become passive—it is to become more attentive. More open. More willing to see clearly, to feel deeply, and to respond with compassion rather than indifference.
Films can be a powerful path into that kind of awareness.
Even when a story is fictional, the emotions it awakens are real. We may find ourselves recognizing a part of our own story, or seeing more clearly the reality of another. We may be comforted, challenged, or even unsettled—and all of that can be part of the invitation.
In this way, film becomes more than entertainment.
It becomes a space for reflection.
A mirror.
A window.
Sometimes even a quiet call to change.
The Peace & Reflection Film Series is a growing collection of films and documentaries that invite us into that space—where awareness deepens, compassion expands, and small shifts begin to take place within us.
This is not a formal program or a structured course.
It is a simple offering:
Watch. Reflect. Allow yourself to be moved.
