Lenten & Advent Reflection Days
A Welcoming Interfaith Experience
Although these Reflection Days are inspired by the Christian seasons of Advent and Lent, our intention is not to teach or promote a particular religion. Rather, we use the wisdom of these seasons as a starting point to explore universal themes that resonate across many faiths and spiritual paths.
Whether you come from a Christian tradition, another faith community, or simply seek time for quiet reflection, you will find a welcoming space where prayer, silence, community, and thoughtful conversation invite each person to reflect in ways that are authentic to their own spiritual journey.
Twice each year, we gather for a day of reflection during Advent and Lent—two seasons that hold deep meaning within the Christian tradition. These retreats invite participants to slow down, step away from the demands of everyday life, and make space for prayer, renewal, and thoughtful reflection.
While these days are rooted in the Christian liturgical calendar, each retreat is intentionally designed to explore themes that speak to the human experience. Whether reflecting on hope, waiting, compassion, forgiveness, gratitude, or new beginnings, our presenters thoughtfully create experiences that are welcoming and meaningful for people from a variety of faith traditions, as well as for those who are simply seeking a deeper sense of peace and purpose.
Held in the peaceful setting of St. Mary-on-the-Lake Chapel, each Reflection Day includes a meaningful liturgy, a retreat led by a Sister of St. Joseph of Peace or a guest spiritual leader, opportunities for quiet personal reflection, and time to enjoy the beauty of our grounds through peaceful walks or silent contemplation. Participants are also invited to share lunch with the sisters, creating an additional opportunity for conversation, community, and connection.
