A Priest's Pause
The ministry of a priest is one of profound generosity. Day after day, you accompany others through moments of joy and sorrow, celebration and loss, often setting aside your own need for rest in order to care for God's people.
As the Archdiocese of Seattle continues its journey through Partners in the Gospel, we recognize that this season brings both new opportunities and new demands for our diocesan priests. We also recognize the many priests from religious communities who serve so generously throughout our region—in parishes, schools and universities, retreat ministries, chaplaincies, and countless other places where their presence and ministry are needed.
Whether you are navigating transitions, carrying new responsibilities, accompanying communities in changing circumstances, or simply longing for a few quiet hours with the Lord, we want you to know that there is a place here for you.
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace and the Peace & Spirituality Center warmly invite you for A Priest's Pause—an opportunity to step away from the pace of ministry and simply receive, rest and renew. Whether you come for a half day, a full day, one night, or several, our hope is that you will find a place of peace, prayer, and gentle hospitality. There is no agenda to follow and nothing you are expected to accomplish. Spend time in the chapel, walk the grounds, enjoy the quiet, read, pray, celebrate Mass, or simply rest.
This offering is our way of standing ding beside you with gratitude for your faithful ministry—a gift of hospitality from the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace to diocesan priests of the Archdiocese of Seattle and priests of religious communities serving throughout the region, as you continue to accompany and serve God’s people.
We look forward to welcoming you whenever you are ready for a pause.
